Youth Soccer System

General Information

Youth soccer in Wisconsin is a complicated system with many different clubs all operating in the same geographical areas and generally providing the same services. Some clubs are more community/grassroots focused, some are more competitive focused, and there are many in between.  Each club also has different features, such as additional training programs, licensing levels of their Coaches, whether Coaches are paid ("professional") or volunteers, leagues that they play in, etc.

Leagues

With few exceptions, all clubs in Wisconsin play in local leagues, such as MAYSA and State League under WYSA. We are one of the few clubs in the MAYSA district that often plays in State League, and have played in the USYS Midwest Conference. There are also a handful of clubs that regularly play in the regional or national leagues.

Teams that win the top tiers of their respective leagues are eligible for promotion, though some choose to stay in their local/current leagues because the higher costs and increased level of commitment required to compete in higher leagues. Given that MAYSA is the second largest region under WYSA, there are times when MAYSA Tier 1 can actually be a more competitive than State League First Division. The annual cost to play in a regional league or higher can be as much as $8,000- $10,000 per year, between registration fees and travels costs. They also generally require year-round commitment.

For any players interested in playing in regional or even national leagues someday, we have contacts and information we can share about where those opportunities are offered.
