Message from President: New Gear, Registration & More

By Kent Disch, 06/01/20, 8:00PM CDT

Dear SPSC Families and Players,
I hope all of you saw the big new changes the Club announced last week. Not only do we have new uniforms and a new Club Badge, we are proud to announce our two-year partnership with TDS to sponsor Sun Prairie Soccer Club. The TDS logo will be on the front of all of our Classic and State team jerseys. I am excited to have TDS as a sponsor!
With the new badge/logo, we now have a new line of spirit wear available for members. You can check out the items here. New gear for a new season!
The refund deadline has passed, and once again, I am humbled by the number of folks who donated to the Club. I am excited that so many decided to take a credit for future registration and hopeful we will have a full fall season. I look forward to getting everyone back on the fields.  If you have any questions about the refunds, you can always contact Executive Director Tony Markell (
Speaking of fall season, last week I had a chance to sit in on a meeting with several doctors from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. They discussed the issues with moving forward with youth sports, the risks - both from COVID and sustained lack of training and the mental aspects of returning to social endeavors like sports. Their bottom line, it is too early for a return to play, but they did not rule out the idea that fall sports could be played safely. It was reassuring to hear some promise of a return, but also highlighted the big issues every club will need to overcome to get back to games.
That said, SPSC is moving forward with registrations for the 2020/21 season. Please go to and register as soon as you can. For the older players (U11-U19), we are still planning to hold tryouts in July. We will need registrations before tryouts to make team placement work. If you have questions about registration, contact our Executive Director, or if you have soccer/team specific questions, contact our Director of Coaching, Chad Wissler at
Finally, and I cannot say this enough, I want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding as we navigated through the spring season and refund process. I also want to thank our Board of Directors and Executive Director for putting in countless hours to make sure we will have a Club to come back to in the fall. Without the support of our members and the tireless work of our volunteer leadership, we could have landed in a much, much worse situation.
Thank you. As always, please stay safe, informed and healthy.
