Dear SPSC Members

I hope all of you have found your new routines and are adapting to our new normal. I have found it helpful to get outside and take a walk every day, even if it is only 15 minutes. Anything that will help build a new routine.

Some quick updates for everyone…

Spring Season Update
The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), which runs our state leagues, has pushed the potential for any season until June 1st. WYSA is looking into way to play league games in a condensed timeline. No action has yet been determined. The spring season has NOT been cancelled.

Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) continues to hold April 30th as the earliest any games can be played. They are looking at options to play league games in a condensed schedule and have NOT cancelled the spring season.

Our payment vendor, Demosphere, has created a way to postpone payments for those on the payment plan. For those on payment plans, you will not be charged your scheduled April payment. We plan for payments to continue in May. Questions about the payment schedule can be directed to our Executive Director, Tony Markell at executivedirector.spsc@gmail.com.

Tryouts have NOT been cancelled or rescheduled, as of yet. I expect more guidance from WYSA/MAYSA on tryouts for Fall/Spring 2020-21 in the next few weeks.

The SPSC Board of Directors and staff are in regular contact with officials from WYSA and MAYSA and will continue to share information about the spring season with our members.

SPSC Cares
We are still collecting cards for front-line workers, particularly hospital staff as well as first responders. Below are cards that you can print and have your players color. We are still collecting cards at:

Please take a few moments to make a card for our hard working front-line workers. We will be delivering them soon.

Virtual Spring Training
You have likely seen a few emails from Chad Wissler, our Director of Coaching. He and the coaching staff have posted the second week of online training videos and workout plans. Go to our website to download. Get those kids outside and working on their skills!

Finally, I again want to offer a sincere “thank you” to all of our members for their patience and understanding as we navigate this situation. The Board and I appreciate you hanging with us, continuing to hope for the best of this situation, and maybe getting some soccer games in when the time is right.
