Sun Prairie Soccer Club

Recreational travel teams are formed in the fall and play both fall and spring seasons as one team. As a result, new teams are not formed in the spring.

• Depending on interest, we may field at least one team will be formed at each age group for coed and girls.
• Teams play fall and spring. Registered players should expect to play both seasons.
• Half of the games are played in Sun Prairie and half within greater Madison area, travel varies by age.
• No try-out is required for recreational teams, all players interested will be placed on a recreational team space permitting.

If your son or daughter is looking for a fast-paced, fun environment to play soccer look no further. The Sun Prairie Soccer Club (SPSC) has a new program for the 2011-2012 season called the U-10 Co-Ed Developmental Team that’s sure to keep kids moving and learning the latest soccer techniques.

The team is being coached by a Professional Coach named, Chafik Fassil, who’s a current Sun Prairie High School coach with the following credentials:

• Former professional player in Germany and Morocco
• Former Deforest High School Head Coach, 1986-1989
• Former Madison East High School Head Coach, 1989-1991
• 21 yrs of high school level 1st division coaching experience

Season Details

Kids will remain on the same team for the fall and spring seasons.

The team will take part in:
• At least two practices a week with the option of additional practices run by one of the SPSC trainers (twice a month). Team practices for fall start in early August.
• A minimum of three tournaments a year (one in the fall, two in the spring. Fees are extra).
• One winter session of indoor soccer at the Prairie Athletic Club or Keva (fee is extra).
• One session of winter foot skills training (one session per week for 6 to 8 weeks) taught by the team coach, SPSC trainers or guest coaches (fee included).

Overwhelming interest
You may have already heard about this program from some of the U-9 coaches. Teams of 11 players will be made in order that the players register.

We currently have enough players for a full team. We could have a second team provided we receive enough registrations AND a second high-level coach is found.  If a second coach is not found or the numbers are not there for the second team, your son or daughter will be placed on a Recreational Travel team and the difference in price will be refunded.

Other team options at the U10 level will also be offered,

• U9 - Born between 8/1/2002 and 7/31/2003
• U10 - Born between 8/1/2001 and 7/31/2002
• U11 - Born between 8/1/2000 and 7/31/2001
• U12 - Born between 8/1/1999 and 7/31/2000
• U13 - Born between 8/1/1998 and 7/31/1999
• U14 - Born between 8/1/1997 and 7/31/1998
• High School Small Sided - born on or after August 1, 1996
  • Fall only for girls
  • Spring only for coed
  • All High school aged players are still required to be at tryouts as small sided high school recreational teams will ONLY be formed if there are enough interested players

Our first priority is placing players on a team appropriate for their skill level and then age level. If numbers warrant, some age groups may be combined or reassigned.
