We were contacted by UW Health at the American Center with information on a few sports performance programs that will be offered in the coming months.
The first is a Girls soccer combine that will be held on Sunday, December 11. This is free for female soccer players to come in and do performance testing in speed, agility, ball control, shooting velocity, accuracy, etc.
The second is a lower extremity injury prevention (LEIP) program that will run for 4 weeks, twice a week, and is limited to 12 athletes (Must be 13 years old). This class will focus on different areas such as proper landing technique, deceleration, and changing direction mechanics. This starts December 6 and goes until the 29th.
They are also having an open house for coaches, athletes, parents, etc on Sunday, November 20th from 2:30-4pm as a way to promote this class. Individuals can come in to see the facility, and in addition, athletes can get a free vertical LEIP assessment done to see jump landing mechanics and their risk factors for injury.
