A local family who has been involved with SPSC for years needs our help. Please consider attending a silent auction and barbecue cookout this Sunday, June 28 at Buck & Honey's restaurant here in Sun Prairie. Proceeds from the benefit will go to help the family of Shawn Bryant, who was recently diagnosed with a genetic variant of lung cancer despite being a non-smoker. Shawn is a 43-year-old father of three and has been married to his wife Carrie for 17 years. He is an active volunteer at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and through various Sun Prairie youth sports programs.

Last fall (2014) our new Director of Coaching (U4-U12), Charles Lindsey, organized a 3-session Goalkeeper Academy that spanned a good portion of the fall 2014 season. The outstanding success of this Academy has refueled the demand for more keeper-specific training in our Club.
This year, SPSC's Director of Coaching (U13+), Mike McIntosh, has organized a two-day Goalkeeper Coaching Clinic in July through the National Soccer Coaching Association of America (NSCAA). At least 5 coaches from SPSC are scheduled to attend this 2-day clinic on training keepers. The Club's intent is to have a number of SPSC coaches trained so that we can continue to expand our goalkeeper offerings on a regular basis. Families can expect Goalkeeper Academies to be a regular offering in both the fall and spring seasons. The Club will also explore the demand for and feasibility of providing a summer Goalkeeper Academy perhaps as soon as summer of 2016.
