Due to popular demand, our Soccer Academies are back! We are so excited that we were able to pull together the details and offer our players another opportunity to advance their soccer skills. Check out our Academy listings for the appropriate birth year listing.
Challenger Advanced Development Academy Birth Year 2002 – 2010 Dates: April 29, May 6, May 13, May 20, June 3 *Note: No session May 27 These sessions that focus on foot-skills, 1v1 scenarios and small-sided games Time: 5:30-6:45 PM Location: Carriage Hills Estates Park Bring soccer ball and plenty of water to hydrate. Wear white t-shirt, shin guards, soccer shoes. Register Goalkeeper Academy Birth Year 2007 - 2009 (Players currently playing on U9-U10 teams) Birth Year 2002 – 2006 (Players currently playing on U11-U14 teams) Dates: April 24, May 15, & May 22 Goalkeeper Academy is comprised of 3 sessions. See tentative schedule & curriculum here. Bring soccer ball, goalie gloves (optional) and plenty of water to hydrate. Wear appropriate GK attire (long-sleeve shirt/jersey preferred), shin guards, soccer shoes. Whether this is on our own home fields, or not, it is the Club's expectation that our teams (coaches, players, parents, spectators) will leave the fields looking the same, if not better, than when we arrived.
If you see some trash and even if it isn't yours, please do pick it up and put it in a bin. Our Code of Conduct is posted on our website. Check it out if you would like to read it in it's entirety. We have also included the littering portion in this message. Keeping our fields clean is a very important part of keeping our program and games flourishing in Sun Prairie! All the player excitement we just could not douse, The cleats were hung by the backdoor with care, In hopes that they might air out that “flair” The players were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of goal shots danced in their heads. “Our feet will be quick, we’ll give it our all, We’ll dash away, dash away, with that soccer ball!” And then, in a flash, they remembered their idols-- Their footwork and teamwork all through the finals! That’s Messi! Now Pele! And Beckham and Neymar! Now Wambach, and Solo, and Morgan and Hamm! Too excited to sleep in their snug little beds, They sprang right back up In their Sun Prairie reds, Then we heard them exclaim, as they turned out the light, "Happy Game Day to all, and to all a good-night!" Youth Appreciation Night will be at the Sun Prairie High School's Girls Varsity soccer game on May 5th (rain makeup is set for May 19th). This event is a great opportunity for our youth players to connect through "adopting" one player for the night.
For those of you who are new to this event, teams will present your player with a small gift and then have the opportunity to run onto the field with the player for introductions prior to game time. Sun Prairie Soccer Club players and families are then invited to bring blankets and sit on the track to cheer on the Lady Cardinals. The front row action is a sure not-to-miss event! Calling all K - 6th Grade Girl and Boy Soccer Players! Please join the SPHS Lady Cards for A Day with the Players! Soccer Skills Clinic Monday, May 9 4:30 - 6:00 PM (REGISTRATION/CHECK IN @ 4:00PM) Sun Prairie High School Soccer Field Cost: $20 Payable to SP Girls Soccer Boosters * Players will divide into small groups with similar aged peers * Meet and work directly with the high school soccer teams * Footskills in small groups * Soccer game with high school players on your team Bring a ball, water bottle and wear a white shirt, shin guards and cleats (bring indoor shoes if the weather is bad and we will be inside at Prairie View Middle School). We are hosting a SPSC U9 and U10 parent meeting on Sunday, April 10th at 4:45 pm at “The Pit” in Royal Oaks. We apologize about the late notification of this informational meeting. Our goal is to go over the recent changes in the U9/U10 division and also discuss the future of your child with Evaluations and season long “try outs”. After you walk in the main front doors at Royal Oaks there will be a door immediately to your left. A U9/U10 coaches meeting will be in progress from 4-4:45 approximately but feel free to come in and join us. We look forward to seeing you and come prepared with any questions you may have for SPSC.
