Camps & Academies | Futsal Academy
Futsal Academy engages players in high-energy, fast-paced activities in this indoor variation of soccer. Originally introduced in Uruguay and popularized across South America and parts of Europe and Asia, futsal has long been considered an instrumental developmental game for youth soccer players in some of the World's leading soccer countries, such as Brazil, Argentina, and Spain. Futsal's emphasis on ball mastery, quick and accurate passing, and high-tempo decision-making translate directly to the skills required in high-traffic areas of the outdoor soccer field. SPSC staff coaches Andy Albright and Fosem Ferengo lead each class.
When considering which level to register your player, please consider your player's best learning environment. Aim for a level that allows both challenge and success. Coaches reserve the right to move players from one level to another based on skill level.
Futsal - Level 1 (typically U9-U11, birth years 2009-2007, depending on skill level). Introduction of futsal technique and tactics. Players in Level 1 will focus on developing a solid foundation of futsal-specific skills.
Futsal - Level 2 (typically U11-U13, birth years 2007-2005, depending on skill level). Continued development of futsal technique and tactics with greater emphasis on passing patterns and defensive skills. Players in Level 2 should already have a solid foundation of Level 1 skills.
Futsal - Level 3 (typically U13-U15, birth years 2005-2003, depending on skill level). Continued development of futsal technique and tactics with greater emphasis on passing patterns and defensive skills. Players in Level 3 should already have a solid foundation of Level 2 skills.
